The Future of the Insurance Sector was Discussed

Osman Çelik: Preparing for Technological Transformation

Deputy Minister Osman Çelik stated that we have entered a period of significant changes globally. He emphasized that big data analytics and cybersecurity present major opportunities for the insurance sector during this process. Çelik also expressed that climate change and demographic shifts have created a need for new insurance products.

Davut Menteş: Sustainable Equity Management

SEDDK President Davut Menteş highlighted the importance of financial resilience and mentioned that there are ongoing studies on mandatory disaster insurance and participation insurance. He particularly noted that intense efforts are being made to complete mandatory disaster insurance by the end of the year.

Uğur Gülen: Reducing the Protection Gap through Joint Efforts

TSB President Uğur Gülen stated that insurance supports economic growth and finances investments through the social transfer of risks. He noted that macro issues such as geopolitical developments, cyber attacks, and climate change are causing protection gaps. Gülen emphasized that these problems can be solved through joint efforts and that innovative solutions need to be developed.

Noteworthy Panels

At the summit, topics such as insurance protection gaps in key areas, natural disasters, cybersecurity, and pension salaries were discussed. The event continued with panels featuring local and foreign experts. The summit was enlivened with motivational speeches by Ceyda Düvenci and Mert Başaran, followed by a panel titled ‘The Future of Life Insurance in Turkey.’ The panel addressed issues of gender inequality and innovative product development.

The second day will continue with panels addressing topics such as ‘Increasing Earthquake Resilience in Turkey’ and ‘ Artificial Intelligence in Insurance.’
